Our aim is to provide a facility which can enable people to grow, heal, and enjoy life. Spending time with our select team of people and horses gives valuable lessons in such things as relationships, life changes, grief, and anxiety. These lessons can be taken from the arena and applied to all aspects of life.
We are so lucky to have a tranquil property on the Brisbane River with lovely river views and masses of bird life. There are also resident animals, such as dogs, goats, and chickens and, of course, the horses – all part of ‘the team’.

With many years of experience working closely with horses and observing the unique relationship between people and horses, Mandy became intrigued by the field of Equine Assisted Interventions. Horses have such a wonderful ability to ‘show’ us the effects of our behaviour.
Here at Transitions, we use evidence-based practices within the equine context. We see individual clients, couples and groups – anybody who is looking to grow and thrive. And you can ask us about team development days.
Sessions are conducted by a licensed health professional and an equine specialist working together.

The EAGALA model (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) provides a global standard for psychotherapy and personal development incorporating horses. EAGALA certification requires initial and ongoing specialised training. It has standards and a code of ethics which EAGALA specialists must adhere to.
The ARCH framework of facilitation utilizes the powerful impact of story in safely supporting learning and transformation in mental health, coaching or educational settings.
Stories matter, and our life narratives impact how we remember our past, how we engage with the present, and how we anticipate the future. Stories are how we understand ourselves, establish culture, and pass on traditions.

Why Stories?
- Stories are a fundamental means of human communication and meaning making that has existed across time and cultures.
- Our lives are lived by the stories we tell.
- We give meaning to our lives and relationships through these stories.
- In essence, the stories we create are the ways we make sense of our lives.
- Change happens organically through story. As the characters and locations change, the story naturally moves and changes.
Change through story feels emotionally safe for clients because:
- It is natural to learn through stories – we all engage with stories daily.
- It is familiar and interesting, sparking curiosity and anticipation of what will happen next.
- We can separate ourselves from stories, viewing them from different distances and learning through the perspectives of different characters and roles.
